No-exam life insurance
Eligibility for fast underwriting, how the process works, and what happens if you don't qualify for it.
Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting: for applicants within age and amount thresholds, they make a decision from your application, prescription history, driving record and other files, without a paramedical exam. Some carriers decide the same day. Each quote on this site tells you whether an exam is needed, might be needed, or is not needed for that product.
What it changes
No exam does not mean no review. Your answers will be checked, and a policy issued based on wrong information can be challenged during the first two years. If the carrier's records raise flags, it can still request an exam or testing; you can decide then whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under about 60 requesting coverage within the carrier's express limits, with no serious health issues and no tobacco use in the past year or longer. Some carriers will use recent bloodwork from a doctor's visit instead of a paramedical exam.
If an exam is needed, it is usually a 20- to 30-minute meeting with a paramedic at your home or workplace in the Concord area, at no cost. For applicants in good health, results frequently move you to a better rate class, so an exam can work in your favor.
